Silo Olten

Silo Olten has been storing grain and animal feed for trading companies and mills of all labels since 1972. With the purchase of Swiss Grana Group AG in 2018, the silo became part of fenaco in 2018 and has been managed under its name since 2024.

Services

Silo Olten has a system from the company Eco2 Project B.V.. EcO2 has developed a controlled atmosphere specifically for organically grown produce to kill insects at all stages of development in food. The technology is 100% non-toxic, has no effect on the quality or quantity of the products and leaves no residue.

Infrastructure

The silo is located at the SBB junction in Olten with a railway siding for storage and retrieval. An own shunting vehicle guarantees the daily delivery and removal of the silo wagons. The loading and unloading capacity is 100 tonnes per hour for storage or retrieval in silo wagons

Two rail-independent unloading and loading points guarantee rapid handling of camions. An automatic loading system also enables camions to be loaded outside of operating hours.

Quality assurance

Since 2019, Silo Olten has held ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certificates as well as organic certification.

The entire facility is monitored by a video system.
